So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.

The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Where there is a woman there is magic. If there is a moon falling from her mouth, she is a woman who knows her magic, who can share or not share her powers. A woman with a moon falling from her mouth, roses between her legs and tiaras of Spanish moss, this woman is a consort of the spirits.

two hearts with walls

two hearts with walls
desperately trying to connect
such high walls
we could not see the tops
pasts of rejection and fear
trying to create a future
lost in the energy
of scars past

two hearts with walls
afraid to throw down ropes
so many fears
who could ever climb that high
to see the love
on the other side

an arms distance love
even when we embraced

a tangible fear
one that caused nervous ticks
of laughter and feet
that could never rest

throats stuffed with words
unable to speak
feelings of truth
through walls of hurt

i remember the glimpses of light
the cracks that would form
in the morning
such a beautiful smile and kiss
to start the beginnings of days
after a night of fear filled dreams

so many words
spoken in fear
of what to say

caused so many secret pains
of misunderstanding
adding bricks to walls
around hearts

so many tears alone
weeped into pillows
and puddles on the floor

we used pride
as our mortar
and pain
as our stone

he said
she said
we are to blame

rivers of habits
ran so deep
easier to build these walls
cause the wrecking ball
of love doesnt
come cheap

the cost of
vulnerability
too high
to accept

we ran the engine
fueled with food and movies
and an oil of sex
to connect

pleasures to hide
two hearts with walls
that would not fall
and end with reject

In love one expands, in fear one shrinks. In fear one becomes closed, in love one opens. In fear one doubts, in love one trusts. In fear one is left lonely, in love one disappears.
